From the delicate deckled edges contrasting with the hard edge of the large oval, to the softness of the handmade paper against the hard, glossy wax seal, it is a study in juxtapositions. A tiny botanical painting framed in gold is the centerpiece that sets off the abstract complexity that surrounds it. Open to your own interpretation, as all good art should be. Carefully signed in blind letterpress, to add value but not take away from the visual beauty.
Each wax seal is hand poured using hot wax. Characteristics such as an organic shape, bubbles or drips of wax are essential to its charm and not to be considered flaws or defects. This is also true of the nature of handmade paper, where decked edges, uneven shapes, and a variety of surface textures add to its beauty.
